Terms & Conditions

These terms describe the basis on which Fat Elephant Travels designs and arranges tailor-made wellness journeys in Sri Lanka.

Prototype notice. This is placeholder legal copy provided as a structural starting point. Have it reviewed by a qualified adviser and adapted to your actual booking conditions, licensing and insurance before publishing.

About us

Fat Elephant Travels (Pvt) Ltd, registered in Sri Lanka, trading as Fat Elephant Travels. Our office is at 42 Galle Face Terrace, Colombo 03, Sri Lanka.

Enquiries and quotations

An itinerary and price we send you is a proposal, not a booking. It is valid for 14 days and is subject to availability at the time you confirm. Sending an enquiry places you under no obligation and requires no payment.

Confirmation and payment

A booking is confirmed when we receive your written acceptance and the deposit stated in your itinerary. The balance is due before the date shown on your confirmation. Prices are quoted per person and exclude international flights, visas and travel insurance unless your itinerary says otherwise.

Changes and cancellation

Tell us as early as you can if your plans change. Amendment and cancellation charges depend on the terms of the individual centres and suppliers in your journey; the specific terms that apply to you are set out in your written itinerary before you pay anything.

Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. It must cover medical care, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment for the whole of your journey.

Health, and the nature of the practices offered

Ayurveda, yoga and meditation are traditional and complementary practices intended to support rest and general wellbeing. They are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, and nothing on this website is medical advice.

You must tell us at the time of enquiry about medication, existing medical conditions, pregnancy, allergies, dietary requirements and mobility needs, so that the physician or teacher can advise whether a programme is appropriate for you. Partner centres may decline or modify treatment on clinical grounds. Please consult your own doctor before beginning any programme, particularly a cleansing or Panchakarma course.

Passports, visas and entry

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and the correct entry authorisation for Sri Lanka. We will advise on current requirements, but the responsibility remains yours.

Our responsibility

We select partners with care, visit them in person and arrange your journey with reasonable skill. We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control, including weather, flight disruption, illness or acts of government.

Complaints

Tell your advisor or the centre manager while you are still in Sri Lanka, so we have the chance to put things right. If a matter is unresolved on your return, write to [email protected] within 28 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
